“In regards to the explosion which occurred this morning at the Williams Olefins Plant in Ascension Parish, I would like to express my full support for my fellow legislators who represent Geismar and the surrounding parishes. I, as well as the rest of the Louisiana Legislature, stand with Parish President Tommy Martinez, Senator Troy Brown and all the locals in their efforts to timely respond to this tragic accident. Louisianaians are no strangers to disaster-both natural and unfortunate. However, our spirit is strong and our resolve is battle tested. I am confident the local officials and emergency responders can and will handle this sensitive matter. As a result, they ALL have my full support and confidence.” Rep. Hunter
