***Interviews*** I stand on the stage watching as final preparations are being made for the Tribute Interviews tonight. There is about an hour left before we start and I am already tired. Wearing an ivory dress with intricate beading that catches the light makes it hard to keep cool, good thing air will be on later. Why do you not have your shoes on yet? Ethyl walks towards me, her dress making her look like a Goddess. I rather not put on my six inch stilettoes until the tributes start making their way down. I lower my voice now that she is closer. It is already a discomfort having to speak to most of them, I rather not pain my feet as well until necessary. Ethyl clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth. True. Although I bet half of them wont even show up. I sigh, that is a good point. Fifteen minute count! I hear a first level Gamemaker yell. Start sending the tributes down and get them in order! Not one person out of place. I raise my eyebrow and tighten my lips at the gamemaker and the two avoxes sent to assist him. Well youre out of it tonight. Just remember that in less than twenty four hours they will be in the arena. Ethyl grins, almost smirking at the thought. I give a slight smirk back. Finally, everything will fall into place. and with that I sit down in my chair. Good thing you will be beside me this year. I run my fingers across the velvet material of her chair. The lights dim as everybody else on the stage scurries off. I can hear the loud chatter of the crowd starting to find their places. Based on what I am hearing the festivities have started and will not end until anytime soon. I fix my posture just in time for the curtain to ripple backwards and towards the edges of the stage. Ethyl and I simultaneously stand together and glide towards the part of the stage that makes a gentle glow on our skin. The anthem plays, well blasts, through the speakers. A moment is left for every one to settle down again after it finishes. I begin to speak. This year we have quite a batch of tributes. That isnt really a lie. I continue looking towards the camera, but as far as the audience can tell I am making it seem as I am speaking directly to them. Ethyl takes over. As you know we like to give you a better chance to get to know each tribute. Each year it as been tradition to only give three minutes to interview each tribute. I cut in right on mark. As you can see, this year does not follow tradition. Starting with the fact there are two Head Gamemakers this year. Ethyl and I both turn towards each other and give smiles to one another. I continue on. So each tribute will receive a timer of five minutes to impress you. If there seems to be a liking towards them we may bring them back again at the end of another interview. This time the original three minutes in respect for those who helped create this tradition that helps bring all of Panem together! Ethyl and I back away towards our seats but continue to stand as the applause and cheers erupt around the studio. We keep doing our marks simultaneously, and purposely of course. We both speak, our voices ringing together, almost like a beautiful melody with the cheering in the back round. Ladies and Gentlemen of Panem. We introduce to you the tributes of the Forty-Eighth Annual Hunger Games! Everyone in the room stands up, some of the people bouncing up and down as the tributes walk one in front of the other to take their seats on the platform behind us. The line looks shorter than it should be. I keep smiling as the crowd goes crazy, but inside I know each and every person missing is once step closer to dying a painful death. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -This post is due Friday August 15th at 7pm. -This is a non-mandatory post.
