"Isaiah was one of the few persons still living on earth that was privileged to peer into heaven. Can you imagine seeing the Lord? Isaiah’s vision of the throne room put God in perspective. He is vastly unlike all others. God is majestic, seated on a throne. He is supreme, high, and exalted. But above all, He is holy, very holy. We know God is holy because He is the only being in the universe worshiped by seraphs. The Hebrew word seraph means “burning.” We may hope that God is a big, soft, teddy bear, but the Bible tells us that God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). Seraphs are unique angels who fly constantly around the throne of God. These asbestos-like wonders experience spontaneous and eternal combustion without consumption because they are so near to God. God’s holiness is made clear from the antiphonal calls of the seraphs. They perpetually cry out, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” God has many attributes, but those closest to Him recognize that His dominant one is His surpassing holiness. It is so overpoweringly pervasive that all the seraphs can do is repeat over and over to each other, “Holy, holy, holy,” in an eternal symphony to Him." - "21 Most Effective Prayers of the Bible" by Dave Earley
