#Issue of a common name Nemani (Fiji Sun) who has abandoned all - TopicsExpress

#Issue of a common name Nemani (Fiji Sun) who has abandoned all journalistic ethics in canvassing so blatantly for Fiji First through his columns and newspaper, thinks his party is the only one with a clear vision on the issue. #Says Nemani: The whole of Fiji now knows that it opposes discrimination both institutional and otherwise. Tick: True or False? False, of course. there is clear institutionalised racial discrimination in the Civil Service and the Disciplinary Forces. If Bai is true to his convictions, why doesnt he address the racial imbalance in the civil service, the Police Force and the Army? Has he done anything to date to remove this imbalance. Of course, this common name issue is just a vote-card for Bai&Khai. There is no genuine commitment to the concept. #But Nemani misses the real point in this debate over a common name. The issue is sensitive to the indigenous community - it has been part of their cultural tradition and identity for close to 200 years. It should have been tackled with sensitivity, not shoved down the throats of the people by a dictator. There should have been a national debate on the subject with a common name chosen through consensus. Who appointed Bai and Khai to play God with our country and its people?
