#Issues . A response by Ibukun Ogunsina on a thread claiming Buhari never built refineries nor was any refinery constructed while He was Petroleum commissioner ( current petroleum minister ). Thank you guys for helping me with your inquisitive comments. It propelled me into many fact finding. And Yes Buhari never built Port Harcourt 1. He couldnt have done that as Petroleum commissioner under Obasanjo, The first refinery in Nigeria, Port Harcourt one was now Alasa eme with a capacity of 38,000pbd was conceived by a Joint venture in 1960 and Buhari Joined Nigeria Army in 1962. The construction started in 1963 and was completed in 1965. Now warri and Kaduna refineries was conceieved under Obasanjo administration because of the increase in demand. Buhari was petroleum minister under Obasanjo in 1976 and became the head of NNPC in 1977. Warri started operation with a capacity of 100,000 pbd in 1978! . so who could have built it even if Yakubu Gowon signed the contract in 1975 but wasnt Around to see its completion. Thats if its probably true because I would love to know the Month in 1975 , the contract was signed!. Dizeani would have signed a contract for Lagos refinery, and not finance it and a Fasola comes in, sees this contract finance it and build it!. Kaduna refinery you will argue was signed by Muritala, while Buhari was Gov in the north east but in the same year Obasanjo appointed Buhari as the head of NNPC in 1977 and Kaduna refinery began construction in 1976 (when Buhari was petroleum minister ) and was completed in 1979 few months Buhari left as a minister in 1978. Let me also add that Dizeani, Okonjo, Jonathan promised us refineries and yet to even sign a single contract to that effect. They spent billions repairing Buhari refineries and cannot boast of 600,000bpd!. #thinkBuhariOsinbajo #Changeishere
