[It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive. —2 Corinthians 3:6 AMP THE LETTER OF THE LAW CONDEMNS, BUT THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW CONVICTS. To convict is to expose someones hidden sinful shame and hold them responsible and accountable it to it. Why is this important? To use the letter of the Law is like a doctor revealing to their patient that they have a terminal disease, then turning around and walking away without providing a treatment-plan, prescription or some hope for a cure or future. Condemnation through the Law is basically a death-sentence thats just waiting to pull the plug on the sinners decaying life-support. Conviction still finds the same terminal disease, but will give the hope of life and the cure they so desperately need. To convict is when Holy Spirit employs the Letter of the Law that was served in love and grace to humble a condemned to death heart and bring the hope of healing and a brand new-life. Conviction not only exposes their shame, but holds them responsible and accountable for their sins. Condemnation always leads to some form of penance, Conviction will always lead to full repentance. Today when you speak to a lost and sick heart, make sure you bridge-the-gap between the Letter of the Law and the Spirit of the Law with love and grace. Holy Spirit will then take care of the rest by exposing, diagnosing and breaking the bad-news. He will convict and do all that is required for their full-recovery, benefit and well-being—if and only if; they submit to the treatment-plan and sind cure of repentance.
