It is always interesting to bump into another story about the 1953 Kingman UFOs. Its important readers be given the correct information about the chain-of-events that transpired back in 1973 that resulted in the first public mention about the Kingman UFO. The few (rather than the many) who would actually hear about it years later were told it was not a hoax, then it was a hoax, then that it was both at the same time. Of course this is the craft used to back engineer everything else, not the other way around. Too many mixed-up comments come from people with just enough information to try and impress everyone else with their whopper stories. The Kingman craft has nothing to do with the Roswell story, they are nothing like each other. And of course the people living in Kingman know all about which roads were here in 1953, back then, as well as today, which is why so many of us here in Kingman laugh at these stories. These people dont have a clue about what truly happened! But they take the stage claiming expertise. Reading various Blogs, people can confirm for themselves that throughout the years nobody was really doing actual research about the Kingman UFO, but these same people had a whole lot to say about it! For me, it was all about doing real research which meant actually getting out on the desert floor, climbing the hills and mountains here and doing the serious twin work of doing research in museums, research libraries, going through public records, old newspaper morgues, reading early journals and law enforcement records, and actually gathering up as well as doing personal interviews with first-hand eye witnesses, people who actually touched these UFOs and watched in awe as the UFOs fell from the sky. I changed the cycle by doing the work and spending the money it takes to conduct structured research and investigation that does lead to finding evidence backed up with proof. Simple things like how to spell eye witness Arthur Stansels name the correct way, like he did, and the fact his name has public knowledge since April 23,1973, but nobody really knew other than highly respected UFO Researcher Raymond Fowler. Thats because nobody looked and just went ahead and created stories that clearly show a severe lack of basic research. In my six years of professional research and fieldwork using established methodology and protocols, I have uncovered the true 1953 Kingman UFO story. None of my discoveries came from sitting behind a computer monitor cruising the internet. So .. let me say that your interesting report that states the story behind the Kingman UFO being classed as a hoax came about because of reports in 1973 contained names of roads that did not exist in the 1953 period is not accurate. It is important to understand that many stories told over the years, including dates, places like roads, and certain happenings were in reality fabrications with no basis in fact. A good example is the story posted in Open Minds TV that tells readers that Hwy 40 was closed from Kingman to Barstow California (245 miles +/-) for several days in 1953, so the Kingman UFO could be transported (somehow) west to Nevada Hwy 95 to take the UFO north toward Las Vegas and then to Groom Lake. This Hwy 40 story is completely made up and has no basis in fact. It is amazing this story was ever told, because it is known fact that Hwy 40 was not built for another 30+ years after the 1953 Kingman UFO landed. There was no bridge over the Colorado River yet where the UFO was supposedly taken .. Davis Dam, which in fact wasnt wide enough or strong enough to accommodate a UFO crossing over it, but then that really didnt matter, because in 1953, Davis Dam was just being completed and it was and still is a small dirt dam with a narrow road that would have trouble handling a 40 ton tank transport pulling a 38 long trailer with a 30 wide flying saucer on its back! But 1973 was the year your article uses to set the Hoax date, because, as you said it was the wrong road issue behind the Hoax idea, so consider this fact: In 1973, there wasnt a Hwy 40 yet, and there wouldnt be for another 11 years! How did anyone know about it before the Hwy 40 road project was even on the drawing board? This of-course never happened. Not in 1953, or in 1973. No scholarship or genuine research involved. Even the southern re-route of modern day Hwy 93 came after the 1953 Kingman UFO landing and crashes, although Hwy 93 north was already paved by 1951 (you would think all the supposed Kingman experts would have known this and not gone off with the crazy idea to use the Nevada highway 95 route to Groom Lake story). These are all elementary facts anyone can research and verify on their own. That is if they got up off their chairs to really do the work! So for years this old angle was made up and told in such a way to make it part of a large drama to confuse what was truly known about the 1953 Kingman UFOs. The government didnt need to lift a finger to confuse people! These fake stories were more than enough to keep people in the dark! I discuss these issues during my lectures and presentations at public events, conferences, with private groups, on television and during radio shows, and in my two DVDs Hidden in Plain Sight - The Kingman UFO Crashes and UFO CON 2012 and soon a new 3rd DVD and two new books that reveal much of what I have had to hold back, because my findings are quickly snapped up and repeated and all too often claimed by others, which is why I have filed copyright complaints on 30 violations, so far. I have been a professional Author and Historian for over 40 years and have never seen such blatant abuse of intellectual property. But I do know how to deal with it! And by-the-way, those stories you mention about the Roads being wrong that made it all a hoax and were supposedly told way back in 1973, actually came from me, and those little gems of truth were released in a copyrighted story by me in 2012! See how quick my findings are passed over, while at the same time being snapped up and twisted to serve what is widely referred to as The Colony. Harry J. Drew Museum Director-Curator (Ret.)
