“It is not by your power, nor your strength, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord. Zechariah 4:6 Well, it seems like I’m caught up in your trap again. And it seems like I’ll be wearin’ the same ol’ chains. Good will conquer evil and the truth will set you free. And I know somewhere I will find the key. ……..And it seems like you’ve been meanin’ to do me harm. But I will teach my eyes to see beyond these walls in front of me. Bruce Springsteen, Trapped Certain People, certain places, certain circumstances Achilles heel, strongholds, weaknesses We have regulated ourselves as helpless, hopeless…..angry, bitter – dealing with “certain’s” in our lives that won’t seem to go away. Some, we have settled and rationalized that it is a stronghold, weakness, that we won’t overcome. We justify it just being a burden part of life. God has never intended any of that for your life. I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time He said, “My grace is sufficient enough, My power is perfected in your weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:7b-9 God wants to teach us. He wants us to learn. He wants us to LIVE from the point of victory. Think of a “certain” in your life. Be it, a person, place, circumstance. Think about them/it in context to the above lyrics. We bang on the wall and it won’t move. We want so desperately for the wall to move instead of learning to comprehend that without our permission it has no power over us. We feel, out of our own pride, we have to engage in battle with it. It isn’t what anyone or anything outside of us dictates victory/defeat, it’s within us, we choose. When we choose to surrender the “certain’s” of life to God, when we stop harping on it, stop complaining about it - Stop rehashing and whining about it. When we cease to no longer try to deal with it in our own power it is then that we learn what it means to be free. Free in Him, even with the wall never being removed. To have His peace; Be teachable. Be willing. Learn to see beyond the walls that you allow to keep you immobile, stagnant, limited and restricted. He that is within you is greater than he of this world. 1 John 4:4
