“It was tough restricting ourselves to just 50 poems, but I think we’ve come up with a wonderfully rich and varied offering of some of the world’s greatest love poems,” says James Runcie, “which, read by some of our finest readers will be an one-off evening to remember.” A cast of 50 leading actors and poets from across the globe will fill the Royal Festival Hall stage to form an orchestra of readers, each reading one of the love poems. Poems listed were selected from 30 countries around the world, from Saint Lucia to Iraqi Kurdistan. There will be readings in Arabic, Turkish, Macedonian and Tamil, with English translations. ow.ly/yVXb2
