"It’s just different from everything I’ve done, and it’s been refreshing, it’s been challenging. But you know, when you get older and you’ve done stuff, it’s so neat to get to do a different thing. Most people don’t really get that. You know, show business is so eager to put you in a box and say, ‘That’s what you do, and that’s it, and don’t do anything else. I don’t care if you want to, I don’t care if you’re good at it. Just don’t do anything else.’ But luckily I never got famous enough as a sketch actor, or doing sketch comedy, that I couldn’t be seen in a new light. That’s luck, really. So when I got to do Saul, enough of the audience either didn’t know who I was at all, or didn’t know me well enough that they were willing to watch me portray this guy or they were willing to look at it in an eminently fair, open-minded kind of way.
