#JFW Awards and more (since #ricebucketchallenge was official there!: #Disclaimer: These are my observations in about 24 hours.. The observations are random.. in no particular order.. no rule that u shd agree with me here. just a fun way of looking at things.. my style. here we go... 1. Ever wondered why award winners often mumble tnx to mom, dad, thanx to my director thanq thanq etc over and over again. On that dais with so much admiration and adulation, any normal person gets tongue tied and u feel so helpless that all u can manage is multiple thanks. 2. Sania Mirza is a star, a diva. The way she walks, dresses up, talks, sits, poses for pix.. she is a charmer. totally Mesmerizing 3. Whoever said a thing (a person) of beauty is a joy forever is bang on. Whether they are naturally beautiful or made-up, if they are beautiful, you feel an ajeeb happiness. Just a feel good vibe on seeing someone look so awesome. cant explain this one but felt this when I saw so many beautiful women and handsome men at the awards night 4. Shruti Haasan really looks like a porcelain doll - pristine, pink and charming. When she walked in a pink ghaghra designed by Manish Malhotra, it was sheer magic. aah thatz a star quality. 5. Actress Saranya Ponnavanan that beauty is elegance. I was stunned how a lady draped in six yards, traditional jewellery, big bottu and nose ring and yes, lots of mallepoo can look so so so hot.. Stunned to see a filmi mom look that way. 6. Actress Nadiya Moidu is such a hit with media because a) she is beautiful b) she is polite c) she makes sense when she speaks. Look at all the medias darlings.. they share the same quality 7. Dance numbers look even better when you see it performed live 8. And yes, the person who does the energetic number on stage takes more than 8 minutes to calm down to a reasonable heartrate.. there is so much happening on stage when one has to dance 9. I was truly the challenger to the JFW team who gave me a few tweaks for the photoshoot. from my earrings to my bracelet they had to change everything to give me the look for the mag. hope it looks good. The rest if the award winners seemed naturally stylish.. Sorry team who gave me the makeover.. mustve been tuff on u 10. PV Sindhu is such a committed girl. After an awards party and the other goings on after it, she was getting prepped for an early morning training.. Super committed.. 11. It takes more than two months to plan a big event. From forgetting to get a pin for the banner to a last minute confirmation call, anything can mess up things on the big day 12. Whenever you are out of town and calling up friends, at the outset confirm it to them that you are already taken care of and that they need not extend hospitality. Have noticed a weird restlessness when we call folks (okay some of them) and tell them you are in their city. That restlessness is replaced by a sigh when you assure them it is just a hello call and not to seek hospitality.. true that 13. Mobile phones have replaced cameras and selfies have replaced celeb photographs. You click with a camera only if r the official fotographer 14. And yes people are surprisingly polite these days... mam can we click a selfie etc to the stars.. no falling on stars.. so cool 15. So many stars still dont gauge the mood of the crowd and keep going on and on on stage.. they shd start looking at their videos after award functions for self feedback. 16. Actress Amala Paul who gave the award is just not photogenic. Because although I met her for a brief while on stage and at the front row she was breathtakingly beautiful. chiselled features and twinking eyes.. no movie has done justice to her features yet 17. All those of us who often complain about how dance numbers have become vulgar and graphic.. I think when u actually watch a live dance number. you feel that the poses and moves are not really choreographed but more a reaction to the pumping music.. well I cud be wrong 18. Did you know that five star hotels actually have something called a pillow menu where one can order a pillow to suit ur sleep style.. Thatz y they are called five stars... as i realized when I was at the Taj in Chennai for the fotoshoot etc 19... and if you are used to having middleclass things like a bucket and a mug in the washroom, you will lost amid those steel and chrome faucets, bath fittings and glittery handles 20. It takes a lot of effort to look the way most ppl do.. overall fitness, great figure, apt clothing, accessories, lights.. everything counts in the final output 21. Trisha looks like a Barbie doll and am sure there is a lot of effort that goes into looking how she is.. and Shruthi is a good singer on stage. 22. Yes yes actresses can be good friends as was witnessed with the vibes between Trisha and Shruti at the party after the awards. it seemed obvious that they were in touch much before the party.. 23. Shruthi seems to have an unhealthy obsession to her pouch/purse.. she kept hurling it at her assistant every few times and thatz the first thing she picks up when she comes off stage 24. It is a myth that women fall and break their leg while walking on those stilettos (long, sharp spiky heeled shoes). Its as simple as getting your centre of gravity thing right.. otherwise how else would the 98 women wearing stills carry it off so well that evening 25. At these awards soon after i received the award, i turned on my mode journalist mode.. mentally noting down things, making up captions and catchlines.. aaaah.. once a journo, forever a journo...
