***JOB OPP: Management, Operations*** Job ID: 16068 Job Title: Team Leader Production (Supervisor) Organization Name: ConAgra Foods/Lamb Weston Linked Contact: James McShane No of Openings: 2 Work Schedule: Full-time Job Description: SUMMARY Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling the department operations on shift to ensure that plant manufacturing schedules and objectives are achieved in an economical, safe, and efficient manner. May be assigned to any of the following departments: french fry processing, french fry packaging, hash brown, special products, quality control, or loading dock. The incumbent will be rotated to various departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Promote a team concept within the Company. Assure positive employee relations climate and achieve productivity goals and standards by conducting training, selecting and developing key subordinates, monitoring performance and taking corrective action when necessary, and maintaining good lines of communications. Assure that product quality meets or exceeds guidelines set by the Company, the FDA, and USDA. Achieve maximum production and the efficient utilization of raw product and plant equipment by coordinating activities and maintaining communications within the department and with all other departments. Assure compliance of food safety and sanitation standards by conducting sanitation training programs and performing routine daily sanitation inspections. Assure that production priorities are being achieved by checking and complying with weekly production schedules. Contribute to the achievement of the plants annual production plan by directing all department activities on shift. Assure personal development by attending all scheduled meetings and training sessions and by reading all material made available by the Company. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to take advantage of the available learning opportunities within the area to further enhance his/her development. Contribute to the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility by minimizing water flows, reducing fats, oils, and greases entering the system, and by communicating relevant information to the waste treatment operators. Contribute to the organizations team effort by accomplishing all responsibilities with favorable effect on the performance of others in the organization. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervise up to 50 hourly employees. Responsible for all production and quality issues related to the product on shift. SCOPE/DIMENSIONS: The dimensions listed below are representative of the production volumes, budget accountabilities and/or staff requirements of this position. 414,000 square foot facility, 600 million pounds processed annually. Location: Twin Falls, ID Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Degree or job experience equivalent, successful supervisory experience, 5 years food processing industry experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Employee must walk continually to and from various areas of the plant, taking readings, checking equipment and supervising employees. Most job duties are performed in a standing position. Employee may be required to bend at the knees and lean forward to make adjustments and check repairs. Employee is required to climb steps to the various work platforms, possibly to be continuous throughout the shift. Lower extremity coordination is required if the employee has to walk or work in areas that are occasionally slick. Eye sight is required to judge the status of various equipment for determining temperature, speed and settings. Employee must be able to read various charts and reports. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is often exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the plant is usually loud.
