*** JOB POSTING *** Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. Project Based Employment Opportunities Program Facilitator Term Position to June 30, 2015 (with possible future extension) Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. Is a nonprofit, community based; Aboriginal lead human services organization that provides a range of Aboriginal identified programs and services that focus on the wholeness, wellness and that builds on the strengths and resilience of Centre for Daniel Abraham Harperoriginal Human Resource Development People. Program Facilitator Ka Ni Kanichihk requires an energetic, motivated, and engaged Program Facilitator to provide support, reporting to the Youth Leadership and Mentorship Team Lead (or her designate). The Program Facilitator is responsible for assisting with recruiting, organizing, program planning, youth development and activities related to the program objectives and deliverables. The project is a girl’s only project that focuses on gender, cultural and age appropriate social development for Aboriginal females, ages 9-13. Qualifications Relevant post-secondary education, or combination of education and experience Three (3) years’ experience working with Aboriginal youth Experience in facilitating group activities High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff and client privacy. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced team environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills, be able to efficiently organize many details in a time efficient manner. Ability to work under minimal supervision Must have a Valid driver’s license, clear driver’s abstract and access to a vehicle Must provide a criminal record and child abuse registry check Commitment to cultural reclamation practice Roles and Responsibilities Program planning and preparation Organize program resources Conducts group facilitation evening programs Assist with recruitment and retention process Maintain regular contact with participants and families Assist with evaluation process under the guidelines of the program funders Provide a safe, nurturing environment for youth Document daily activities, and submit detailed reports on a regular basis Other duties as assigned and described in full job description Applications for this position will be received up to the close of business on Friday, January 23, 2015.
