The school are seeking a Key Stage 2 (KS2) teacher to work on a long term basis to cover a secondment which will begin in November 2014. Although initially the school would like to appoint via New Directions on a temporary basis, it is likely the role will become more permanent and will then be advertised through the local authority. The school is situated in the heart of the Maesteg community and their core values are to enable each child to become a happy, confident individual who enjoys the excitement of learning. They are looking for a caring teacher who will embrace the school values whilst creating exciting lessons and making the classroom a happy, safe and stimulating environment for all pupils. The successful applicant must be willing to contribute to extra – curricular activities and be present at staff meetings. The school are looking for a teacher with experience in behaviour management and teaching pupils with special educational needs and you will be asked to provide evidence of this at interview. The school have previously achieved a very good inspection report and have many good or outstanding features. They are currently looking to improve physical education and any input in this area would be of great value.
