❤ JUST RESCUED! “Blossom” This small Shih Tzu mix girl is “Blossom”. It wasn’t until we got her back to the poodle farm last night that we realized her condition is even worse than we thought. Found as a stray, her time was up at the shelter. Severely matted, horribly thin and maggots covering her tiny body, she is in bad shape. Our grooming team worked on her this morning to remove the matted hair and maggots and give her a gentle bath. She is now at the Vet receiving fluids and eating. She still cannot stand on her own, so the Vet wants her to stay overnight and try to find out what is wrong. We don’t know how much Blossom will need medically, but we do know we need your help. The story below was written by Olivia, who helped groom Blossom this morning: “I came to work expecting a regular day. But what I got was a totally different experience. I got Blossom in the grooming room thinking it was just a normal shave down for a dog that wasnt very well taken care of. But what I saw in this sweet baby was much worse than I can put into words. Extremely dehydrated, emaciated, and maggots all over her body. Ive groomed maggots off a dog before but never anything like this. Working in rescue you learn to cope with neglect a lot better than the average animal lover. But even I have a breaking point. And Blossom’s condition broke my heart. She cant walk, but when I got her in the bathtub, mat and maggot free, she started wobbling everywhere and wagging her tail. Joy and sadness overwhelms me. I found myself stopping and breathing through the emotions while grooming her more than Ive ever done. Our little girl hasnt been here that long but already has a place in my heart. Maybe now she can blossom into a happy life. Blossom deserves so much more.”
