Though we continue to pursue adding farmer members to the Cooperative to increase milk supply, the high demand for organic milk and favorable conventional milk prices have created a very competitive environment for organic milk procurement and farmer retention. This competitive milk procurement environment will continue to challenge our supply/demand balance through the end of 2014 and into 2015. To address this challenge, we are restructuring our business to improve our fill rates in 2015. This week we will be announcing a SKU rationalization process which will drive more volume into our core products. Fill rates are projected at current volumes through the remainder of 2014 due to limited milk, butterfat, and egg supplies. Items that we will continue to allocate: • UHT dairy items including (but not limited to) 64, 32, 16 and 8 oz. white milks, lactose free milk, and Omega-3 milk, • Dairy creamer items, • Butter products including (but not limited to) salted, unsalted and cultured quarters and 8 oz. sticks, • Parmesan 12/4 oz. grated & shredded cheese as well as the Parmesan 40 lb. bulk block, • Eggs and retail whites, • Additional items may be at risk of allocation due to high seasonal demand for milk products.
