#JayPoetry Something for the night... I call it Home: I find comfort in the arms of the bottle.... My head laid on a cloudy bed of cigarette smoke... My imagination sent running by the liquid flow of the heroin in my veins.... The string on my hand stops the blood flow...the needle pierces my skin and relaxes my body...I am sent into another world where I find peace for a momentarily fix of high... I dare not look people in the eye...ever heavy...ever glassy...ever high...my smile is a distant memory...don’t remember how it looks... I try to look at old pictures and see how I used to smile but that’s no more... My teeth melted by the meth that has come into contact with them... I remember not the comfort and warmth of a hug...all I have is the feel of a dirty old rug I call my hoodie... The only thing that keeps the wind at bay when it comes knocking... My body once knew how it felt to lay on a bed but now it only knows how the hard surface under a bridge feels...my bones ache not because of old age...but because of what I have done to them.... I hear whispers when I stumble along the road... See people cover their noses to fight the stench that comes from my filth... He was a brilliant young man they say and I silently let a tear fall... Yes I was a brilliant young man but that all changed through the snorting of one single line of white grain...hooked...fixed...hinged...never too be let go of... I lost it all... My job...my wife... My kids...my family...my life....all because of that temporal high... All because of that simple trip I took to the other side of the world when I was high... I am not a bad person...just one who made bad choices... I now stand here...at the doorstep of the Lords house...seen some people pointing and laughing...some taen a step to the side fearing contact with filth...I turn to leave but I feel a hand on my shoulder that leads me in..A silent whisper that tells me am home...a sudden embrace that says welcome back...yes am home...yes am home... #NutterAndProud
