“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto - TopicsExpress

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 When Jesus speaks, we do well to listen. There is a difference between the “opinions” of men about how to get to heaven and the simple truth” of the One who provided the way to heaven. If you took a survey on the street today of how does one get to heaven, you would certainly receive a number of “different” ways that men perceive one can get to heaven. Jesus was talking to a “religious” man, a teacher of the law, a Pharisee, when He spoke these words. And the words brought this man to the place of confronting his own sin and realizing he needed what Jesus was offering. God has always had one plan and since the sin of man in Genesis 3, that plan has remained the same - the Seed of a woman would bruise the head of the serpent and thereby purchase redemption for all who will believe. The cross of Calvary was the ultimate fulfillment of God’s plan and when that Roman soldier drove the spike through the feet of Jesus and “bruised” his heel, that cross was erected and the Son of God who became the Son of Man hung between heaven and earth and cried “It is finished!” And three days later, victorious over sin, death, hell, and the grave, Christ came forth from the grave and access to God was complete in the Person of God’s Son. Now men and women can be “born again” and be a part of the kingdom of God. Glory! Just my thoughts …
