“Jesus is the only Cornerstone” In ancient times, the cornerstone of a building gave it stability. The critical point united two walls and bore the weight of the structure so that it would stand firm. The prophet portrays the Messiah as the precious cornerstone on which God will build a strong church. Jesus is the only cornerstone, the only sure foundation for life (see 118:22-23). So, don’t build your life on yourself, your accomplishments, your status, wealth, appearance or relationships nor on anything else because for sure without Jesus life may crumble at anytime. However, if you’re building your life on Him, the tested Stone, then your foundation is sure. See I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation: the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. – Isa 28:16 NIV
