”Joy” in life isn’t something we pray for, or a tingling - TopicsExpress

”Joy” in life isn’t something we pray for, or a tingling feeling. Joy is a state of mind that comes from drawing closer and closer to Jesus. It comes from a growing relationship with Him. Then, through this relationship, we receive His Joy. John 15:11. Joy isn’t the same as "happiness": The word “happy” comes from the root “hap”, as in “haphazard”. Happiness is spurious, situational, circumstantial to a great degree, and comes and goes, usually very rapidly. But joy? When ‘the joy of the Lord’ is received, it stays there as long as our minds are focused ("stayed") on Him. Joy isn’t dependent on circumstances, and will become mature and commonplace, as we Practice (actuate or realize) Christ’s Presence in our moment-by-moment walk with Him. God promised to “keep us in perfect peace, while our minds are focused on Him…”! Isaiah 26:3.
