** Just something to think about and keep in mind*** There has been a lot of talk about Boycotting different countries, such as Japan, The Faroe islands, Iceland, this list goes on.. and now.. New Zealand the only problem I have with Boycotting, especially with countries like Japan, is this.... Boycotting will NOT stop the drive hunts, stopping the actual Captive trade WILL stop the drive hunts! we must end the Captive trade and Captivity in order to put a stop to the drive hunts. CAPTIVITY AND THE CAPTIVE TRADE, IS WHAT FUELS AND DRIVES THESE DRIVE HUNTS/SLAUGHTERS IN TAIJI, JAPAN! again....Boycotting will NOT end this atrocity... ONLY Ending Captivity will! Boycotting will only serve one purpose, and one purpose only.... it will allow the suffering of people in Japan, ( or other countries that are boycotted) that are NOT supporting these atrocities, that are not taking part in them, nor, approving or agreeing with them. there are innocent people in those countries that will pay the price for the ones who are actually committing, condoning and supporting the drive hunts, and the whaling industry. believe it or not... a lot of places other then marine parks, get thier dolphins, whales, and meat directly from Taiji, Taiji, Japan is the BIGGEST importer of marine parks, aquatic parks, swim with dolphin programs, places like the Mirage in Las Vegas, seafood export industry the list goes on. the ONLY way to deal with Taiji, Japan to stop these drive hunts, is to end the Captive trade! We MUST start to focus on that more and more, I cannot stress this enough! But, if you are still intent on Boycotting, please remember this.... You will have to give up using your Computers, Cell phones, ipods, laptops, and notebooks, most of your kitchen appliances, cookware, your cars, ect.... as a lot of these items are made and manufactured in countries such as Japan and China, and are imported to the United States. also, our very own Cove Guardiand Otto Lam lives in Japan. along with some other SS crew members who may either live in Japan or are from Japan. whatever kind of job they do outside of being a SSCG, Boycotting Japan would even put them out of work, and hurt the campaign. now..I cant tell anyone what to do, I can only advise and give my own personal Opinions, the rest has to be up to you, as an individual.
