In this we understand each other, we stand by each other, and we will not become pacifists to corruption and greed that will consume our cities, empty our pockets and drown our desires. Today we stand in a street that has been stolen from us long ago. We sold it to the structures of power that continue to bleed to this very day. But while we may stand late, we stand firm in the face of every piece of public land that was sold to a supermarket chain, every budget cut that took a book from a child in school, every excuse to tell us that we are better off with the status quo. We stand firm with the knowledge of what you have achieved and what we will achieve. We only ask one thing from you. To watch us today – as we watch you – take back cities and a systems that are no longer ours. We ask you to watch us as we watch you break down the same structures of concrete and fear that keep our citizens off the streets and silent in their daily toil.
