Place mixture in unbaked pie shell. Pour milk in a little at a time, gently mixing with a fork. Gently mix in vanilla. Dot with butter. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake until congealed, about 1 hour. Leave pie to cool and set up before serving.
