==Keep scrolling. You dont have time to read this cuz its not a 14 second video you can giggle at== this is mostly toward the baby boomer generation that has preconceptions of what rap is. Or anyone who loves music but hates either rap or country without giving it a fair chance. Also, for anyone who already enjoys thoughtful, non mainstream, substantial lyrical hip hop. I never gave country a chance because I thought it was ALL lame but when i finally did thx to Jahann i realized Ive been missing out on a genre of music i assumed was all the same. Its not and has a beautiful range. Thx to Bright Eyes for breaking down those mental walls i had against country with the album Im Awake, Its Morning. My awesomely open minded and diverse parental units still feel some type of way against rap. As one of the rap pioneers KRS-ONE puts it: Rap is something you do. Hip hop is something you live. Its impossible to compare this to the awesome beats-sounding garbage lyrical content you hear on the radio. I love a good beat which is why i still listen to that mainstream rap (started in 2010 thx to Jesse who turned me onto a killer wheezy mixtape where he spits over other rappers beats called No Ceilings) but if i want something that makes me actually THINK about what the rapper is talking about i go for something I call intellihop. Music is too precious to not give an entire genre a chance because you were like me and thought it was all the same. I could write for days on music, better keep taking my medicine lol. https://youtube/watch?v=zQJBgdBfp6c ==ok keep scrolling hehe==
