** LEGENDS of JAZZ ** DONALD HARRISON at NIGHTTOWN THURSDAY & FRIDAY Legendary jazz alto sax player Donald Harrison is here this Thursday and Friday. This is a Dont Miss concert!! Donald came to fame during his stint in the late 70s/early 80s with the legendary Art Blakeys Jazz Messengers along with Terence Blanchard. He and Terrence then formed a group afterwards that was extremely popular. In the 90s, Donald created a style all his own called Nouveau Swing, which merges swing with modern R&B, second-line, hip-hop, and reggae rhythms. Youll find Donald playing with numerous legendary artists of jazz all the time including Billy Cobham, Ron Carter, Dr. John, Will Calhoun (@Living Living Colour), Irvin Mayfield, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Roy Haynes, and numerous more. This is a Dont Miss concert folks. Guaranteed to be one of the best jazz concerts youll hear this year. Thursdays concert is at 8:00PM, Friday at 8:30PM Donald and his group will be presenting a clinic on Friday at 11AM at the Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts at:Cuyahoga Community College Metro-Campus in Room CCA 310.
