Lane County Sheriff’s Office to Hold Deputy Recruitment Open House The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants for the positions of Deputy Sheriff and Reserve Deputy Sheriff. The application process will open up on August 16th and will be open until filled. The position description can be found by visiting the Lane County website at LaneCounty.org and clicking on Jobs/ Human Resources on the left hand side of the page, then Apply for Jobs. There are currently open positions in the Corrections Division and an eligibility list will be created for future vacancies once the positions are filled. The Sheriff’s Office will hold an Open House for potential applicants to learn about the hiring process, get tips on how to be successful in the hiring process, and speak directly with Sheriff’s Office employees who will be there to answer questions. Some of the equipment used in the ORPAT, or the physical abilities portion of the testing process, will also be available at the open house for potential applicants to try out. We encourage applicants to bring athletic shoes to the open house if they plan on trying out the equipment. Basic requirements to apply: • Must be 21 years of age or older • Possess a current driver’s license • Education: Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade. Two years of college preferred. • Experience: Must have at least two years of experience in dealing with the public. • Substitution: An equivalent combination of experience and training, demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying. • No prior law enforcement experience necessary Open House: August 12, 2014 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm Harris Hall, 125 East 8th Avenue in the courthouse in downtown Eugene
