"Lazy Yogi --Wisdom" Question: In a response to someone else you had said "let it come let it go." It is very wise but difficult to practice. How does one grow, or reach awakening if we are always letting go? Answer : Everything is transient. Things come and go on their own. Not to cling, not to grasp, not to hold on is itself to let go. Sometimes we must stay and be persistent and break through our barriers. Sometimes our only sane choice is to let go. Knowing when to do each is true wisdom. Deep down, you know what you must do. Most of the time it is what you would rather avoid doing. “Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.” ~ Eckhart Tolle Awakening isn’t reached. It is your very nature. Therefore awakening to yourself doesn’t require you to grasp onto things but rather to let go of what you are not. That doesn’t mean those things go anywhere. When you grasp a coin tightly in your fist, its rim begins to cut into your flesh. That is like the ego and the body-mind. When you grasp, it causes you suffering. But if you just open your hand palm-up, the coin does not fall away. It rests peacefully in your palm. That is like letting go. You are afraid to lose and yet when you let go of what you must, the only thing you lose is suffering.
