“Lead by example”: ACP Brown Fifty newly recruited drivers were reminded today that they are now members of the Fiji Police Force and they should lead by example. This was the message by the Fiji Police Force Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Planning Henry Brown this morning. ACP Brown said many government official drivers tend to ignore the simple basic road rule and this shouldn’t be the case for Police drivers. “You should become role models and lead by example. Act like a Police Officer and show that discipline while conducting your duties as a driver,” said ACP Brown. The Head of Planning informed the participants that they were chosen after meeting the strict criteria put out by the organization. ACP Brown said they should feel proud to be a member of the organization but reminded them that they have a big responsibility ahead of them. The Director Traffic Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Mahesh Mishra said there was a great need for drivers in the Police Force. “In the demand for mobility, demand of our response and also how best we can get our services out to the communities, we did our study and found out that we need to get in more drivers,” said SSP Mishra. The Fiji Police Force head of traffic said the recruitment these drivers is timely and will help in operations especially as the nation heads towards elections in September.
