#LeadershipBasics || Seizing Opportunities Even opportunities have expiry date or seasons. Im sure you experienced the mayhem that resulted about two weeks ago, where hundreds of thousands of youths, mostly graduates applying for an establishment that offer less than 5000 jobs. Desperation even led to stampede and deaths. I kept wondering what the international community thought about us. In a country where a minister is boldly declaring that over a million jobs where created. Everywhere i go, i have not seized to tell people to ruggedly build self management skills that can help them build the leadership capacity to influence change in the nation. I just arrived from Akure, Ondo state where i spoke on Emerging Societies and where we must all drive our nation as emerging leaders. I will be speaking to corpers at the Kaduna orientation camp in some hours time. I am like a launched rocket fueled with unbelievable passion to persuade our young men and women to get self-equipped for leadership excellence in anything they find to do exceptionally well. You have something, you dont know you have, because you havent seen the value locked up in it. The arrive Nigerian can blow grammar but bring them to design sustainable solutions, you will begin to wonder whats happening. So many vast opportunities reside around you, stop waiting for Government or waiting for doors to open. You may wait forever. Design a realistic vision, get multi-skilled, build valuable networks...etc. You must learn to site and seize the opportunities around you. I have just designed a programme called, Skills to Cash. This is not a talk forum but practical wealth generation forum that may make your present boss apply for a job in your company in about 5-10 years from now. I will talk briefly about it at Lagos, next week. It is easy to attend from anywhere in the world provided you get registered in May. More info will come on that. So, buckle your belt, use your youth power to produce what the world will see and find you. You were never designed to just live anyhow and die with aborted dreams. I will never wait for Government when the world is waiting for what i was born to offer. Grow above the wait. Build unalloyed competence and people will locate your brand.
