"Leila Patterson" begins Act II with the story of her arrival into DC from organizing in Cambridge, MD under the leadership of civil rights leader Gloria Richardson. After the show a man came up to me to say that he was a SNCC organizer in Cambridge in 1963. I wept as he told me this. He told Sasha Eby that her portrayal of Leila captured the authentic essence of the young white female activists he worked with in the movement. She wept. I am so proud of her and this project.
