“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, - TopicsExpress

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” We have a living hope, it is in the person Jesus Christ. The crux of our hope is through His resurrection. “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.” “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Again, everything relies upon and is dependent on the resurrection. Our hope is solidified by the love expressed on the cross. If the measures that were taken were extreme enough to send Gods own Son for communion, fellowship, and forgiveness, how much more ought we to have hope in and depend on Gods love for our everyday needs, circumstances, and situations? In this knowledge through experience we share to others for edification. A direct result of knowing God is sharing the love of God in speech and deeds with others. Yet, we are reminded to do so for a few reasons. It actually stirs within ourselves remembrance of the faithfulness of God. It is rehearsing and practicing truth in our mind, tongue, and heart that bears fruit. It also promotes the same passion in others. The Lord is returning! We are to spur each other on as a good team, family, friends, and church does. In doing so we are investing even unto ourselves. Those who I minister to ought to with the same truths minister back to me when I am feeling weak. We are members individually unto a larger body that upholds each other. The context of this verse, which is just as relevant today is imminency. We only have a particular amount of time doing so. Let us continue be found doing that which edifies in the Lord!
