// Life Lessons // its very ironic to me, that we are force fed the idea, that the only way we can make it in this life is if we get a fancy paper, with a degree on it. i whole heartedly encourage knowledge, but not all learning experiences occur through a textbook, or in a lecture hall. shaking someones hand and exchanging words, indulging in each others experiences, would you consider that learning? what about getting out into the real world? volunteering, networking, exploring. i dont think it is fair for the youth to believe that they must cut their dreams short, in order to achieve high marks in classes, they had no choice in taking. when you build a resume, or go for a job interview, there is never once a section where they demand to know what grades you are getting, if you made honour roll, or how many nights you stayed up, just to get that streak of As. There is always questions though, for involvement, in sports, or music, or clubs. Employers want to know that youve taken chances, youve been apart of a team. They want to know your real-life experience, so you better start living, instead of just trying to appease societys idea of education. Because intelligence and passion, can only be ignited, by the world around you.
