(Location to be disclosed at a later date) Ok, so normally, Id be a the trailhead before sunrise but after consulting the NWS Im going to delay that till about noon until which time some thunderstorm clouds should be moving in by 2PM. The hike is 8 miles and listed as *strenuous and with sunset at 8PM this gives me the time I need and a much more interesting backdrop. Now, I realize that I could be ALL wrong and in that case, Ill repeat whole thing over again tomorrow and the next day if I need to. Im on a mission!! :-) Ive wanted to hike and photograph this spot for over a year and Im determined to get it right and Ive come a LONG way... So, I feels very uncomfortable to be sleeping in at 5:47 AM when I feel I should have been geared up and out…but instead, Ill wander around in the town for a bit and grab some coffee and breakfast and move at pace much slower than Im used to. Left Phoenix yesterday at 3AM and arrived here about 12:30 PM and had some beautiful monsoon skies, spectacular lighting and some great shots yesterday.
