***Long Post Alert! Please read Anyway*** Sorry that I have been MIA these last few days. My uncle’s passing was a huge shock to me and my family and I was spending the last few days with them. His passing has put a lot of things in perspective for me. When people say life is short, it is so true. As a social worker who has worked with the elderly population for the last 13 years, I have learned a lot of life lessons. The biggest one was when I met this one resident who lived at the long term care facility that I was working at. She was 70+ years old and she was explaining how miserable her life was. She married a terrible man and just had it really rough. I felt really bad for her because she wished she had made different decisions in life. I learned from this one conversation, that I only get one life. I always said that I want to live the BEST life I can. For many of us, we don’t have control of when we are going to leave this world. But we can control living a healthier life to prevent our death from coming sooner than later. If you are looking to make a change, I would love to help. My next challenge group is starting tomorrow and it is not too late to sign up. I am looking for 2 people who are ready to make a CHANGE and who want to live their BEST life.
