(Long post, but great lesson. Hope it helps you.) I just posted a pic about meeting Outkasts production manager last night. He let me chill backstage in the trailer to charge my phone, but theres a bigger picture. Hes in charge of the FULL production of the show. (3 days of major artists and 22k attendees each day). The show ran extremely smoothly. When I walked in the production trailer he was on the phone talking about the production of another major show. (Yes, I was listening to his convo. I learned long ago to always pay attention). Anyway, when he got off the phone he said, I let you in b/c you have a good spirit. Who are you? What do you do? So, I told him I publish JubileeMag. When I told him its a faith-based mag he said, Whatt?! He IMMEDIATELY went to my site. He loved it. Loved the concept AND saved it in his bookmarks. We talked a little more. I told him, At some point Ill need a production manager like you who knows how to run a solid professional show. I asked him for his contact info and sent him mine. The point of this long story is to show that a great team is built through relationships and experiences. Another point is to show the importance of showing up and not being afraid to ask for what you need. The major point is to show the importance of having a good spirit. Its not something you turn on and off. Its a lifestyle that cant be imitated. People can sense it. It sets you apart. Its God. HE opened that door for me. If your spirit isnt right, check it. You cant fix it alone...youll need Jesus. If you want a life with unexplainable, how-did-you-do-that experiences, that only comes from God. It opened a door I needed and it can do the same for you. When the day comes when Im ready for a production manager on his level (or someone to ask questions), Ill know who to contact...and hell be open to working with me. Build genuine relationships with people doing bigger things than you are. (Before you need them). Thats how you LEARN and GROW. Just sharing my journey. Hope it helps someone.
