~ Love, Rage and Hope ~ #BlackLivesMatter Much like with Amadou Diallo, Sean Bell, Abner Louima and Rodney King and many other African American men who died from police brutality, the pain, loss, fear, and outrage around the lack of accountability and pervasive racism from bystanders and community members mirrors what is occurring right now. Post-racial sentiments and microaggressions that lead to extreme forms of racism and violence must end. Our work is not easy, but we do not have to do it alone. And, although the struggle for equity can sometimes feel hopeless, we must not fall into despair. We remain hopeful as a movement (a movement, not a moment) for the memory of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, the lives of their families, our youth and our communities.
