#LunchTimeDiscussion. From Nancys wall. LANDLORDS VS TENANTS, TENANTS VS TENANTS Situation #1: LandLords Vs Tenants Nancy read an interesting letter in the Post the other day. A Tenant was complaining about problems they face as tenants in SHARED houses. This person complained that as Tenants, they use one Electricity pre-paid meter. The landlords have set conditions in order to control the use of electricity. For instance, NO TENANT is allowed to cook foods like Dry Fish, Beans, Katapa etc for as long as they live there. Because they take long to cook. Those LandLords are refusing to engage ZESCO so that SEPARATE Pre-maid meters can be put. WHATS THE SOLUTION TO SUCH? Situation #2: TENANTs Vs TENANTs Sometimes you find that, say 3 people rent different rooms in one house, and they EACH contribute K100 towards Electricity once they run out. Manje some TENANTS are very SELFISH. When you check the rooms they rent, you find that in: Room 1, there is a Phone charger, Microwave, a small fridge, a TV, and element for heating water limbi na laptop. Room 2, you find that there is a phone charger and a Kettle chapwa. Room 3, just a small radio and a phone charger. ...Yet all 3 are expected to contribute the SAME AMOUNT towards electricity. Who is supposed to sort out such problems? Landlords or Tenants? How do they calculate electricity USAGE per Appliance in order to know how much each must contribute? Or must number/type of Appliances be regulated as well? By who, Landlord or Tenant? #UneditedPost Your Thoughts?
