**********MAJOR TRAFFIC ISSUES TOMORROW, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2014 from 12:00pm-4:00pm********** Denton Municipal Electric has a subcontractor moving a very large electrical transformer from the substation on Airport Rd to Bryan, TX tomorrow, Nov 13th. Denton PD traffic officers will be escorting the vehicles out of town. Due to the size of the transformer, Texas Department of Motor Vehicle has set the following route the subcontractor has to travel. They will travel from Precision Rd east on Airport to Bonnie Brae, north on Bonnie Brae to the s/b service road and then south to Teasley and exiting s/b Teasley to FM 2499 in Corinth. The convoy will then continue on 2499 to FM 1171 and then west to 35W but we will not be involved in the portion. Expect significant traffic issues along the route as we will be closing intersections and performing a rolling blockade of Teasley. The transport vehicle is over 100 long and 18 wide. The tractor portion of the transport vehicle will have to be traded out at Bonnie Brae and the s/b service road to allow it to make the turn, so s/b Bonnie Brae will be closed at the service road from about 12:15pm-1:00pm. We are hoping that the subcontractors will be out of our city limits and into the city limits of Corinth by 4:00pm. PLEASE share this info with family, friends, co-workers that this will be happening tomorrow! There will be traffic issues during this time on the route and that they will need to be patient with us during this time or they will need to find another way to get where they are needing to go! Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience while we escort this transformer through the city.
