MAN has been shot by heavily armed police during a tense four-hour siege in suburban Brisbane. It’s alleged the man first armed himself with a gun and barricaded himself inside a car on Gannet Street, Inala shortly before midday. Scores of police, including specialist SERT officers, swooped on the area and have been on scene since, attempting to negotiate a peaceful resolution with the man who’d reportedly been making threats. Witnesses reported hearing several shots ring out around the home just before 3.50pm after the suspect suddenly got out of his car and pointed what appeared to be a handgun towards officers. He was then shot at several times by the Special Emergency Response Team. Emergency services are now attending to the man who dropped to the ground beside the vehicle. His condition remains unknown.
