[MOSOP DENIES ENDORSING WIKE FOR GOVERNOR] ------------------------------------------- The Movement for the Survival of the Ogo- ni People (MOSOP) has dissociated itself and the Ogoni from media reports that it has endorsed the Supervising Minister of Education, Mr Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, for the 2015 governorship election. The MOSOP stated that some, “self-serving Ogoni politicians” claimed that Ogo- ni had approved a particular gubernatorial aspirant, and called on the Ogoni people and the general public to “discoun- tenance the spurious, deceitful and misleading,” report. “So far as MOSOP is con- cerned, Ogoni has not ap- proved anybody and we warn local politicians to stop forth- with from dragging the very good name of the Ogoni na- tionality into their political game in an attempt to please their financiers and external manipulators”. It noted that reports connecting some Ogo- ni members of a group called, “Ogoni/Orashi Alliance” in- cluding Dr. Fred Kpakol, Hon. Olaka Nwogu and Chief Mon- day Ngbor had alleged that Ogoni had ratified Wike for the 2015 Rivers State gover- norship contest.
