★ MUGSY - A0980643 @ the Manhattan NY High-Kill Shelter A volunteer writes: I am partial to Boston Terriers as I own one, mixed with a Pug. What a personality they have! Mugsy came to us with his big friend, Buster (a German Shepherd/Pointer mix) already with a cold. Their owners were moving and could not care for a pet anymore. Mugsy looks sad in his kennel, upset too and he shows his teeth when I talk to him and open his door. Only briefly, though. He is leashed without problem and we go for a long walk around the block. Mugsy is a clean boy and eliminates on the way. He also does not mind nearing other pooches. We settle afterward in a pen. mugsy comes when I call him and sits across me. He likes my treats that he takes very gently from my hand. He does not mind me petting him when he eats. Mugsy is 7 and good looking and trim in his tuxedo. His eyes are still sharp. His little tail is quite skinny and twirled. Mugsy feels better in company. He is not as grumpy or upset anymore. He found himself a friend. That is often all what is needed to unwrinkled a face and warm up a heart. mugsy needs to be home, cared for and loved. When will this happen?
