[MUSIC AND MILLENNIALS] they call us the entitled generation, millennials, spoiled internet rats who dont know what they want but think they can get everything at a click of a button, and get away with it. i dont like it when these same attitudes show in our general preference and consumption of music. we want it quick and satisfying for our basic human cravings; 3-minute optimized sound junk products of repetitive jargon. we want to hear hits replacing hits after hits. we want to be into what most others are into just so you can dress up for it, and, of course we want it downloadable for free. nowadays we give full cover albums to commercial models and make it dictate markets. we reap the rewards of music, but dont make it progress. what happened to trying to journey with music and growing with it, innovating on what you already have, experiencing music for what it is, wondering how it is created, exploring unknown places to hear it, and understanding music on a personal level. what happened to intelligent reception of music as artwork. they say nowadays we treat music like it were burgers and fries from mcdonalds. except we dont buy it. we just rant about it, while all the while not knowing and caring about its true value. note to self: what am I gonna do about it?
