!!!MUST WATCH - MUST SHARE!!! If youre a part of my generation youll remember through some of the worlds toughest times, recording artists created music to heal the heart and soothe the soul. I remember songs like Marvin Gayes Whats Going On, Mercy, Mercy Me, Inner City Blues, and Save The Children. I remember Michael Jacksons Heal The World and Quincy Jones We Are The World. Then there was Bob Marleys Every Little Things Gonna Be Alright and One Love and The Beatles with All You Need Is Love. And lets not forget John Lennons Imagine or Teddy Pendergrass Wake Up Everybody. Then fast forward years later when hip hop gave us songs like Fight The Power, Stop The Violence, F The Police, Express Yoself, U.N.I.T.Y., Were All In The Same Gang, Freedom, Cop Killer and the list goes on... Today, songs like these are pretty much extinct because upliftment, love and togetherness have taken a backseat to ballers, boss b*tches and other basic black people bullsh*t!!! Which is exactly the way the powers that be want it. With the exceptions of a few artists like J. Cole, Static and The Dream, where is the support of musics most mainstream? Huh? Exactly! Theyre too caught up to catch up and too afraid to speak up for fear of losing their place, their power and the profits amongst the elite. And no, these songs will not fix the problem, but they do add to the backdrop by softening the blow which in turn causes us to stop, listen, think, plan, prepare, protect and pray for the best. With that being said I want to give a huge shout out to #TheDream for his thought provoking, powerful, inspirational, and spiritually uplifting contribution to the issues that continue to plague the black community. For those of us with a conscience, who are in fact conscious, this song and others like it, are truly appreciated. Feeling Real Black Right Now... Love, SE
