::: MY UNDERSTANDING CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG ::: Many criticize our religious belief is one which doesnt recognize or value women. Also says Vedas talks inferior about women (i dont know about vedas) but like to share what I feel and as one among in this category this is my answer to them. 1. In Ramayana I believe Ramar, Bharathar, Lakshmanar, Shatruganar were all born on same day (Even if not i dont think, the brothers of Ramar are not less in age to Devi Sita) Still they were considered their sister-in-law as their mother (which is no strange thing in our culture i.e considering sister in law as mother) here the point I come to emphasize is though Devi sita who was young to the three brothers of Ramar, still treated and obedient to Devi Sita they were like to their mother. Im not sure of the part, whether they sought blessings to her (which is not in practise in our tradition, getting blessings from youngers or prostrate before them, still if they did here the fact which dominates is the motherly position she was in) Also I guess Hanuman was greater in age to Devi Sita if not for sure greater in age to Devi Rukmani (the avatar of same mahalakshmi in mahabharata), whom hanuman considered as his mother and sought her blessings. This clearly shows Where womens are kept in our society. 2. We are calling Earth as Bhoomi matha, our India as Bharat matha. We named all rivers which is base for our livelywood in female one. This shows the value and respect we have towards the women.
