#Malik LeT militant killed in Pulwama encounter: Police Restrictions imposed in town Srinagar, Feb 1 (KNS): Restrictions on Saturday were imposed in the main town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama, when a fierce gun battle between militants and forces ended with the killing of militant. According to reports received by KNS desk, CRPF and Police personnel on Saturday morning announced the imposition of curfew in the main town. The locals of the area told KNS that the force vehicles announced during the early morning hours that curfew has been imposed in the town. However, police told KNS that some minor restrictions were on place so that the law and order problems could be avoided. The police said further that there was no clamping of curfew in the town and that minor restrictions were imposed in the area The reports received by police stated that an active Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) militant was killed last evening, on a specific information Police, 55RR and CRPF launched a joint operation in Kangan area falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pulwama. “The hiding terrorist fired on the joint party. In the ensuing encounter one terrorist of LeT was killed. He has been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Bhat son of Jalal-u-Din resident of Chersoo, Awantipora,” reads the statement issued by police media centre to KNS. The statement claims further that arms and ammunition have been recovered from the encounter site. The reports stated that militants, who were two in number, according to police, took refuge in a residential house of Ghulam Hasan Dar, and started firing on forces. In the initial exchange of fire, militant was killed in during the gun battle. Huge contingents of police and paramilitary troopers are guarding the sensitive areas, till the last reports came in.
