#Manya:Uganda had the second highest fertility rate and the fifth highest growth rate in the world in 2014. In only three years, close to four million Ugandans, many of who are unplanned, have been born into the country. Uganda’s population has increased from 24 million in 2002 to 34.9 million people, according to provisional census results released by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (Ubos). The results, according to Ubos, translate into an annual growth rate of 3.03 per cent, which if maintained would mean the country’s population will be 35 million next year and could hit 47 million by 2025.
