The underlying discussions seeks to encourage Cadres within the ranks of the glorious gigantic student movement to occupy space in all sectors of society, especially the academic fraternity, Academic focused institutions, Governance structures..This is to ensure that SASCO fast track its transformational Agenda. Evidently, the dominance of white graduates has reached its sell by date. This was confirmed, earlier on this year, when the Author of Mountain to Climb, Mbali MK Mkhonto was elected as the First Black President since the formation of UJ in 2005. UJ Register Prof Kinta Burger said The Vacant Posts are additional member and Deputy President, the latter is as s result of the term of office of Prof C Rensleigh which is ending December 2014. Sivu is presumed to contest an additional member alongside Bongani Mthembu Lincoln who is eying for the Deputy President post. Both Positions grant an individual a ticket to participate in strategic decision making institutional meetings, such as Council, Senate, and other indispensable institutional formations. Sivu will be obtaining her honours in IT this year if she successfully complete all her registered modules. When asked about her readiness by Mashele Media, she replied with utmost tranquility The PYA significant s contribution to my leadership qualities and understanding of society cannot be overemphasised in this regard , I dont regret joining SASCO, i will utilise all the strategies, tactics, skills , knowledge and expertise i consumed from SASCO to transform UJ convocation, and prosperously take the institution from Ordinary to extra-ordinary. All UJ Diplomates and graduates of formal subsidised qualifications, (retired) Permanent academic and research employees, Vice chancellor, Registrar and retired Emeriti Professors are members of convocation.
