#Mauritius/Mauritania: Mauritania Nick One Past Mauritius Mauritania posited a lone goal victory over Mauritius in their 2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations preliminary round first leg qualifier on Saturday in Nouakchott. France-based striker Amadou Bas 23rd minute effort separated the two sides, and gives Les Mourabitounes a slim lead ahead of the return leg next weekend. The hosts could only manage just a goal in the encounter witnessed by a packed crowd at the Olympic Stadium in the capital. Against the run of play, Ba broke the deadlock with a low shot from his left foot for what turned out to be the only goal of the game. Debutant Moussa Karamoko, who plays for Moroccan side Sale, was gifted with a couple of opportunities to authenticate the lead for the homers, but his efforts were without success. The visitors almost succeeded in drawing even with a quarter of an hour remaining, but goalkeeper Souleymane Diallo cleared the situation for his side. The second leg will take place on Sunday, 20 October 2014 in Curepipe with the winner advancing to the next round of the qualifiers for the 30th edition of the flagship continental football event. The winner will join the 13 teams for the seven places for the group phase of the qualifiers. The draw for the group and final phase of qualifiers will be done at CAF headquarters on 27 April 2014.
