****** Mayai Waziri wa Maradhi....... Many people would remember that this was the high school swahili set text,short stories literature section. It had eleven stories,if my memory fails me not. Good..... ****** In one of the story in this anthology, bearing the name of the text,a bogus minister with ridiculous ministry was so lazy and corrupt, that his own shadows haunted him at night. His dead son would also torment him at night. ****** This minister would buy all the local dailies not to read the stories therein,but to seek the cutting edges section,to see whether he was adversely mentioned. Thereafter he would be so jubilant if the cartoons and cutting edges did not injure his reputation, if he had any,anyway. ****** I am surprised that this same habit is so common today amongst our both appointed and elected leaders including in the corporate sector,that to be adversely mentioned is such a big noose that more and more papers are being produced daily to malign and settle scores,among peers/equals. ****** Luckily,all the books that are recommended for study in high school literature, are so well researched,only to fall into deaf and dumb and thick headed students,who rarely gets the intended message. Otherwise,if they did,the students who studied Animal Farm, An enemy of the People and Kifo Kisimani,among others like A man of the People,would be so revolutionally and equipped against the societal evils,that we would be a better society. ****** On the contrary,in reference to our time,we did such a hopeless and useless romantic play,called Merchant of Venice,that its popularity extended to the after school life. It was so popular in application so that excellent literatures like I listed above,went unapplied.
