I’ve got a theory that some of the best Christmas songs aren’t about sunshine and rainbows, but are melancholy and reflective. This song is one of the best examples of it and is a pleasing antidote to the music by numbers, upbeat aural faeces wrapped in tinsel that is usually rammed into our ear canals.
